Drawing on this concept, the image of Marie Antoinette has been transferred onto one side of this vintage optical lens. Flip it over and you will find her masquerade disguise!
It works just like a regular Thaumatrope - spin the pendant and with a little practice you will see Marie Antoinette put on the mask. The background flashes to emphasise her transformation. She even appears to blink!

• The chain is gold plated and 24 inches long.
Hanging next to the clasp is a tiny little brass star.
• The pendant is about 4cm (1.5 inches) across and made from a silver-coloured metal.
• The main body of the pendant is glass onto which transfers have been applied and then sealed with artist's varnish.
This necklace is designed to be long so you can create the illusion whilst you're wearing it.
Wear it as regular necklace or clasp it in a different way to create a longer, drop-down effect as seen in photograph 4.
You could even wear it fob-watch style by stringing it through a button-hole and clasping it to your pocket.
Whilst this necklace is waterproof to a certain extent, please do not wear it in the shower, expose it to condensation or submerge it in water!
Please note that the materials used to make the pendant are vintage stock. It is also intentionally distressed. As such you may find some slight imperfections which surely add to its charm.
This necklace is a delicate art piece. Please take care whilst wearing it.
